2 days back…29th April 2016 to be precise it was International Dance Day and this week’s Photo Challenge is about Admiration….so when you add up the two, the only person I could think of was my dance idol , my Guru – Smt Nivedita Mukherjee aka Shampadi for me…
Thanks Di for being a part of my life…blessed to be your student!!
Feet or Destiny ???
Happy feet, I’ve got those happy feet
Give them a low-down beat
And they begin dancing
I’ve got those ten little tip-tap-tapping toes
And when they hear a tune
I can’t control the dancing dear
To save my soul 🙂
“You’ve gotta dance like there’s nobody watching,
Love like you’ll never be hurt,
Sing like there’s nobody listening,
And live like it’s heaven on earth.”
― William W. Purkey
Ask any IT engineer and he/she will tell you the luxury of a idle sleepy weekend after chasing endless deadlines and mails over innumerable cups of tea/coffee from Monday dawn to Friday night.
But ask me and I will say, weekend is better spent when am attending a dance show or best when am myself dancing 🙂 Had a day-long dance workshop this weekend (10th Dec 2011) held at Smitalay by Aloka Kanungo. After much contemplation, I went for the workshop for the sheer experience of learning it from a dancer of such a great repute. I think I will let my pictures do the talking!!
It was an amazing experience to share space with such talented dancers around me and more because I learnt a completely new item esp an abhinaya item. Well, the experience is just too refreshing for me to finish off in this single bunch of pictures. Will soon post a well-detailed post about the entire experience
P.S: It was that evening when I noticed the Lunar eclipse (last for this year) on my way back home. Pics of that will be up in the next post 😛
Decorating the desk with my new-found hobby 😛
Parathas…..Yummmmyyyyy…need I say more?
Impromptu trip to N.C.P.A to watch three stalwarts perform live in an amazing confluence of three varied styles of dance….the best way to kick-off the weekend!!
- Ganpati Bappa Morya
Welcoming Ganu on the first day of the month was probably the best way to start it 🙂 ….not to mention the amazing modaks and puranpolis that accompany him 😛
Although I have uploaded some more Ganpati pics here …..this was one of the lot that captivated me. I believe each idol ahs its own beauty and this one was one of them.
- Play of colours
Ganesh chaturthi is totally incomplete without a beautiful rangoli adorning his entry. Like every year, Ragini wowed everybody with her skilful play of colours and patterns. Great job gal!!
- Queen of Hearts
With nothing much to do in the afternoon and even my beauty sleep eluding me(surprise isn’t it!!), bunch of us got together for the usual girly chats and random shots….actually just getting used to my SLR 😛
- My extended family….don’t they look lovely
A befitting end to the day was a lovely dinner at Swati kaki’s place with the added bonus of hanging out with my fav dance group….although a few of us are missing in this pic(Amrita,Neha,Sulabha aunty) …what more can I ask for?
