Fly High

Aaj main Upar, aasmaan niche….aaj main aage, zamana hai piche..!!!

This kid was an example to me of the phrase ” I don’t care what the world thinks..” Infact, that’s the best part of childhood of following your heart and not your head which is what growing up robs us of.

Weekly Photo Challenge – Rounded

Art, Dance, durga puja, Festive, Friends, Photography, Spiritual, Travel, Weekly Photo Challenge

Well, I was really happy to read the topic albeit a bit late , but because a few days back on a random walking spree I coincidentally clicked two shots which fit the theme to the T ..!!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

First and third shot are taken 2 days back at a chai cafe (Chaayos) which is close to my heart for all the memories it holds with my near and dear ones ….makes me nostalgic 😀

Second shot is taken at a recent dance festival I visited in Bengaluru in the artists dressing room and it is actually the headgear in one of the traditional Indian classical dance forms from Orissa – Odissi … my first love

Final shot is taken at this year’s Durga Puja (Indian festival) and it is actually a Sudarshan Chakra granted to Goddess Durga by Lord Vishnu during her fight with Mahishasur, the demon….!!

Weekly Photo Challenge : Pedestrian

365, Human Relations, Just Like That, Photography, Travel, Weekly Photo Challenge

Honestly this was one of the prompts that I used to eagerly wait every single week till a couple of years back and I hardly missed posting any during that time. But then, priorities got shifted and I lost touch. Yesterday, while going through my archives, I happened to read one of my WPC posts and I knew the next step right then and there…!!!

So here it is, my humble attempt to interpret a tricky topic for this week’s WPC – “Pedestrian”

Till now, Pedestrian the word related to mostly Street and its life and street photography has always been interesting for me…so here is my version

WPC - Pedestrian

Bored to Sleep

Well, spotted this old lady sitting right in front of Gateway of India and unaffected to the chaos and crowd around her. Infact, with the habit of carrying bottles, there was hardly anyone in the crowd buying water from her. Bored and tired from her pedestrian routine,  she finally dozed off to a good 10-min nap.

Taking a cure from Krista’s point of view and in continuation with the earlier shot, would like to share a picture of a historical place which is “Anything but Pedestrian” – Gateway of India

Footprints in the Sand….

Footprints

Let’s walk together…!!

One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.

After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
“Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You’d walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don’t understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me.”

He whispered, “My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you.”

Gurukul

Again from the archives, but this one I cannot take credit for as it was shot by my Dad..!!

However, since he doesnt have a blog of his own(and not inclined too)….I decided to post it myself. This has been shot in Shantiniketan last year during their visit. Its supposedly a classroom right outside in the open under the trees…wowwwwwww

I mean can it get any better that you get to enjoy nature as you keep adding to your knowledge…the concept of Gurukul in ancient times…..loved it. Planning to visit before this year end and tick this place on my Travel wish-list 😀

Budding Talent

The emergence of a new beauty

Going through my archives, came across these pictures of flower buds taken at various intervals at various places. A bud is nothing but a new life , a new beauty entering in this world raised with lot of effort by the parent plant and eager to experience the potential o its being…!!

Isn’t it the same with our kids…then why do we squash their eagerness with our expectations and kill their innocence with our logic.??!

Honey, where are the kids??!!

Bench or Pause

Myself Loved the capture with the winding road in the backdrop putting me in a philosophical mood.

Often there are such benches in the path of life or a momentary Pause so as to say. There are some who feel it’s too much of an effort and simply quit the walk, there are some  who rest for a while and then resume with full Gusto and then there are those who don’t rest till they hit the finish line…!!

None of the decisions are Right or Wrong…they simply are….it is to be seen with how much sincerity do we stick to the decision we take 🙏

This is called a Banana Flower or Mocha(in Bengali) and it tastes really yummy. Infact I’ve heard that it is often referred as the “Mutton equivalent” for the veg guys…all said and done… I am a big fan of this Vegetable 😋😋

P.S : Does anybody know the different names for this Vegetable ?
