Travel Tuesday

Gurukul

Again from the archives, but this one I cannot take credit for as it was shot by my Dad..!!

However, since he doesnt have a blog of his own(and not inclined too)….I decided to post it myself. This has been shot in Shantiniketan last year during their visit. Its supposedly a classroom right outside in the open under the trees…wowwwwwww

I mean can it get any better that you get to enjoy nature as you keep adding to your knowledge…the concept of Gurukul in ancient times…..loved it. Planning to visit before this year end and tick this place on my Travel wish-list 😀

Monday, here I come..!!

Ready for takeoff

Ready, steady and Go……

Well, Sunday is coming to a closure with a few hours to go and as I was going through my archives, this picture reminded me of how Sundays used to be a few years back when I working in my job. Sunday night meant more of getting ready to fight off the week starting with the toughest day mentally – MONDAY

Irony of the matter was when I quit my job, Monday infact became my most fav day of the week. I realised that it is not Monday’s fault for being painted the villain in a jobbie’s life but it is the thought of going to a place which feeds our stomachs but not our souls, where it becomes more of an obligation and less of an expectation.

I know there are lot of you out there who may disagree with my thought, but I am just expressing what I saw with majority of them. So just like this crow about to take-off , its time for the week to take-off too.

Enjoy….!!!!

Timepass…!!

Two to tango

This is what happens when :

a. It’s raining crazily

b. You’re the only one to reach early

c. You’ve got an iPhone and time to pass

Well I decided today to be proactive and reach early for a change. With some time in my hand along with my iPhone and the  rains, I decided to make most of it. It was fun capturing the raindrops over the fallen leaves 😁😁😁

Sasural genda phool

Genda Phool

Captured this shot while shooting an Odissi dance recital by one of the students of Aratrika . Actually this was pre-recital shot and amidst all the chaos of the stage being setup and the green room, I noticed this lone flower lying on the stage in the spotlight. Nothing philosopical about the picture and yet I feel drawn to this shot but at a loss of words.

Ohh by the way, for those of who are wondering why the title of the post…well the only song I could remember when I saw the flower was Sasural genda phool….cannot stop humming now…lol.. :-))

For all you curious music lovers, who have no clue about this son…here’s the link for you

P.S : Genda phool = Marigold flower

Ever since I remember, Dance has been an integral part of my life. It is my solace to everything else around me and yet it has kept me tied to the realities of life as well. From being a performer to capturing other artistes through my lens has been an amazing journey. Infact, my experiences behind the lens has added to my experience in front of it.

Here, I have posted a few pics from an elegant and classical dance form of Eastern India – Odissi. These I found in my archives when I was searching for a particular pose and I knew I had to post them. There were hundreds of shots but I clearly knew my favorites….lot more are in pipeline…so keep watching this space 🙂
