The most fav part of Dashami is “Dadhikarma”- a delightful concoction of khoi, murki, chiNre (varieties of puffed rice) curd and bananas.
The “ghat” is moved, the thread is cut and she is applied sindoor…this is the transformation of the Goddess to a mortal and the start of “sindhoor utsav”
Before the actual visarjan takes place, a symbolic visarjan is done by the priest when he immerses the idol of goddess Durga, by capturing her reflection in a bowl of water.
