Guilt-free trip :-)

Posted on

Yes, that is a pretty unusual topic but a very very important one in every woman’s life. Phew!! That one was heavy, isn’t it?

Kilos,Calories,Pounds,Inches…etc, etc. Haven’t you all heard these heavy-weight words jumbled in a chaos of sentences and snowballed at you at such a high speed that before you know what knocked you off, you are already on that special “diet” :-P

Don’t they remind you of Mrs. Potts and her son Chip??

Anyways, had a lovely Chinese lunch on a hot Sunday afternoon and was almost full, when I spotted a Häagen-Dazs outlet. Needless to say, I knew how heart-broken the frozen sweeties would be if I did not venture inside ;-)

Banana Split – Before Attack

Well, after flipping through their menu booklet for atleast 15-20 min, I finally gave up and settled myself for a “Banana Split”…I mean it did look pretty yummy on the menu :-P

The Banana Split arrived and then…….I was lost.Totally,Completely and Heavenly Delicious…no wait…Yummylicious……yummmm :-D Sorry the whole sight and experience of the ice-cream was so awesome that I could just manage 1 click before the indulgence. Incase you are wondering how the ice-cream saga ended…well here’s the closure shot ;-)

Häagen-Dazs – In a Mess

I don’t about you guys, but the last breaking news I heard (or rather witnessed) was that Häagen-Dazs was in quite a mess…see for yourself!!

Wow…after such a fulfilling afternoon, there was only 1 thing in this world which could give a befitting end to it all….a nice lovely sunset…hmmm :-)

Silhouetted Sunset

Watching the high-sky buildings silhouetted against the setting sun with a mild breeze playing through your hair, is one of the most peaceful sights I could ask for.

At the end of the day, when I hit the bed….I just asked one question to myself

Am I guilty??

No.Never

And  slept peacefully…..lol  :-D

Weekly Photo Challenge: Hands

Posted on

Did I read just Hands….that’s all?

OK

Then here it is….a little different than the rest

Celebrity Hands….

…. dodging the Paparazzi :-D

Speaking of hands, let me divulge in a bit of Asian tradition of decorating the hands of the bride by applying mehndi(henna) in the most intricate and beautiful designs you could possibly think of(or not!!)

Bridal Mehndi :-)

There is an interesting myth that goes around mehndi….well it says, that as dark as the colour of mehndi(henna) becomes, so deep is the love of the husband for his wife!! But then again, some myths are totally harmless…..just fun ;-)

LOL :-P

Single and Strong

What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger
Stand a little taller
Doesn’t mean I’m lonely when I’m alone.
What doesn’t kill you makes a fighter
Footsteps even lighter
Doesn’t mean I am over cause you’re gone
You try to break me but you see
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger………

Weekly Photo Challenge: Blue

And I thought that they forgot about this week’s challenge topic :-P

Okay, its a hot sweltering summer in this part of the world right now, so “Blue” is just the right word to evoke a sense of  coolness around. I mean what better than to laze around in a pool sipping an icy-cool lemonade and soaking in the chillness of the cool blue water around you …… Wow!! Alas…the poolside idea is a distant dream for time being :-(

Although I hate to repeat my posts….but this one was a total winner…

Bluish Sun

Sunny Blue for all of you (wow that rhymes too!!)

Well incase you are wondering where you saw this pic earlier….here is the link to the previous post….SUN

Another one from my floral collections and the only blue flower I have clicked till date is the one below…

Blue flower

Does anyone know the name of this flower?? Whatever it maybe, it surely looks pretty Blue :-)

Humpty Dumpty

Posted on

Well, got this balloon on New year’s eve when me and my cousin sis were at our childish best and got this plain white balloon….hehehehe. :-D

The Picasso inside me ;-) could not wait to paint something on the pure white canvas in front of me and the end result was “Humpty Dumpty“…Lol

Humpty Dumpty

Well for the record, this one did not fall or break….it just shrivelled away into oblivion but both of us gals had a fun time fooling around with the balloon :-) :-) :-)

Couldn’t help posting this…..

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.

All the King’s horses, And all the King’s men

Couldn’t put Humpty together again!

Dance workshops are fun. Total Fun :-)

Well, I had to unfortunately give this year’s workshop due to some prior commitments and am so so cursing myself for that :-( Nonetheless, I somehow made up to it by spending a whole Sunday at the workshop clicking snaps, sharing a few laughs and having a ball simply :-D

Below is  a screenshot of some of the snaps taken at this year’s workshop:

A big thanks to Limgaraj and Sanjukta for taking so much pains and teaching the kids with such patience and love….A bigger thanks to my Guru for arranging it all for us :-)

P.S: Am sure attending it next year!!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Unfocused

Posted on

Read the topic on Friday night and have been since then wondering what to shoot for the theme. Since the time I have or for that matter all of us have handled a camera the first word to be grilled in our minds is “Focus” and here you are trying to figure out how to do the exact opposite…hehehehehe :-P

Well, I didn’t have to wander much and was lucky enough to shoot stuff I hold very dear to my heart…Dance!! :-) Here it is my interpretation of being “Unfocused”

Unfocused Dance

For all those who have been constantly behind me shouting “Focus dudette”…well for once you can keep quiet :-D

Weekly Photo Challenge: Together

Posted on

When I read the topic for the Weekly Photo Challenge, I simply went ahead and posted some of my older pics that meant “Together” for me….but then again, the click-happy person in me…urged to do something different (over-enthusiastic actually)…. :-D

Well, then here is my take on “Together”

Together they rock!!

Well, individually they may not be so effective but coupled together they yield quite a strong feminine power to dismantle even the best of the male species…..hehehehehe ;-)

Together forever

Couldn’t resist to post a really mushy picture that depicts “Together” ness… :-) Have been following this lovey dovey couple settled outside our window for the past 3 years and I must say they make a spectacular couple….. :-) :-) :-)

Lakeside view….

This weekend was a trip across two of my favourite lakes in the city. Lakes, being so still themselves, have an unusual calming effect on the ones sitting ashore. I, for one, am an absolute fan of sitting by a lakeside and either watching the sunrise or setting slowly. It makes me feel more connected to nature even amidst the fast-paced city chaos. Coincidentally, all the pictures here are around sunset :-)

Weekly Photo Challenge: Sun

Posted on

With the scorching summer on and the blistering heat frying away the days, the least favourite thing in the universe right now for me is the SUN :-(

Hence when I read this time’s topic for the W.P.C, the first reaction that came was a big “Ohh No!!”….but well, challenges are meant to be faced and here I was face-to-face with my current adversity….SUN :-D

Below is the collection of 4 of the SUN-shots I have taken over the period irrespective of the season :-P

Rising Sun - First Glance

Have always been an admirer of Sunsets more than Sunrises (they are way too early), but my morning cyclathon took me to this small lake right in the heart of the city and to focus the camera and shoot the first glance of the sun made my Sunday a literally Sunny Day :-D

Tinted Sun

This picture was shot a few years back with my Dad’s Nokia N73 on our way to Pune. Shot through the window panes of a moving car, I simply fell in love with the bluish hue it gave to the entire frame…..finally I painted the Sun BLUE!!! hehehehehe ;-)

Race to the Sun - Chariots on Fire

This was shot on the Kelwa beach a year back using my modest Nokia-E5 and am so glad it turned out just the way I wanted it to. This was the time when I had decided to get a DSLR for myself!!

Washed away Sun

This shot was taken on the slope down my office after a long day’s work :-P

Had nothing but my handy Sony Ericsson J20i to capture this lovely moment…felt as if the Sun was literally washed away by the clouds :-)

P.S: Now that I posted these pictures, it was pretty coincidental that except for the first one, all the remaining pictures were taken by my mobile phones at some point or other (have lost two of them by now)

Weekly Photo Challenge: Two Subjects

Two Subjects

in

One Picture

“Weekly Photo Challenge” has always been something I look forward to every Friday now…..the best part is when I get a picture of my choice and the added bonus when others share the same sentiment and appreciate the shot!! :-)

I knew that this shot had to be the one when I was searching through my collection and trust me each time I see it, I simply go in splits….lol :-D

Two Subjects - Dad and Cake

Taken a few months back when I gave a surprise dinner treat to both Mom and Dad. Was about to take a nice picture of the yummy cake which we got as a complimentary dessert from the restro and Dad’s childish delight at the sight of it was simply priceless…mwah…Love you Dad!!

Two different subjects and yet bound in a single shot, a single moment!!

 :-D :-D :-D

P.S: On an afterthought, I remember a rather similar picture (2nd shot) I had posted in my first entry for the WPC….here it is

Weekly Photo Challenge: Journey

“A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving.”

                                                                                                        – Lao Tzu

This was the first quote that sprung in my mind when I read the topic and it is indeed true because a journey gets its identity when the traveller embarks on it. It can be a journey of relationships, nature, life or a simple walk down the road.

Here is my take on “Journey”

Journey of the day....beginning or end?

This one is a sunset captured at Marine Drive,Mumbai. Sunsets have always been a favourite of mine and it leaves me with a single question everytime….

Is this the end of the journey or the beginning to a new one?

Journey of life

This pic was clicked at a joggers park near my locality and has been a particular favourite of mine. It actually determines her grit and determination to take on the opposite direction even after she has already walked a considerable part of the universal journey – Life

Journey of Relations

Two friends walking on the beach at sunset as they have been doing all through their lives by just being there for each other. This picture means a lot to me since some old relations saw the end of their journey and some new relations began theirs after this trip.

“Every day is a journey, and the journey itself is home.”

C’était délicieux….

Posted on

It really was…total yummm :-) :-) :-)

Had a small lunch at a restro near my office called Cafe Mangii and trust me they had awesome Italian cuisine along with a wonderful ambience…a sorry for the poor resolution and the blurry images…still getting used to the new camera in my cell phone :-P

Interesting Olive jar....

Yummy cheese fondue

The nicely maintained touch to the dishes and nicely maintained decor made the lunch even more pleasant in this hot sweltering summer….!!!

Sinful Cheese.....lovely

Interesting mats....

Sorry the food was just too delicious and we were way too hungry to stop and click some shots of the food…but I can vouch for the place :-)

Overall, a nice Friday lunch was the perfect start to the weekend!!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Arranged

Posted on

Arranged

The word itself gives you sense of discipline, security and an orderly feeling. Personally I do like things that are arranged in a certain/proper manner and I know a lot others who share the same viewpoint, but a break from the rule never harms anybody does it???

Different arrangements for different occasions and some just for the sake of it….

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Why…even the pictures have been arranged nicely like an album…..hehehehehe

:-) :-) :-)

P.S: Incase the slideshow is a headache for some of you viewers…apologies guys…but dunno why am getting pretty obsessed with it :-P
