Awesome Christmas 2011

Posted on

The last few weeks, everywhere I look its only and all about Christmas. Suddenly everybody around me has fallen for the red-and-white combo….am I complaining? Ofcourse not..am absolutely loving it all!! :-) :-) :-)

Christmas decorations

Frankly speaking I had no concrete plans for the day and was just content to spend it lazing at home, munching on the goodies and enjoying the Christmas special movies on T.V. Well, the angels up there made sure I had an amazing time and so I did ;-)

Mini Christmas tree

For a die-hard foodie, a glass of Sula wine with a combination of Caesar salad and delicious Pasta was just heaven…..:-D

Caesar salad stuck in "between" a Sula wine and Bacardi rum

If all this wasn’t enough and I was still wondering how to pull through bed-time, well someone up there was surely making more plans :-)

Had a total blast in my society with all the kids and adults playing and dancing around to the latest Bollywood hits….yeah this our version of Christmas ;-)

Pretty elves

Well we had our gang of pretty beautiful elves to help our sweet Santa distribute the chocolates and goodies to the kids :-D

Santa on diet

Hilariously we literally had a “healthy” Santa…can’t blame him with everybody turning health-conscious in today’s time ;-)

Salman clones?

Yes, there was alot of goofing around as usual going on…with all the boys dancing around as “macho” Salman Khan on his Bollywood hits and girls swooning as “gorgeous” Katrina Kaif on her item numbers :-D :-D :-D

From Home to home, and heart to heart,
From one place to another.
The warmth and joy of Christmas,
Brings us closer to each other.

Merry Christmas to you!!

P.S: Got nostalgic over one of my best friend’s wedding a year back and actually realized I had forgotten to wish her….hehehehe

Insect-o-pedia – I

Creepy, Weird, Scary, Crawly….but Colourful

Although I really never had any fascination for these multi-appendage species, somehow over the years, I’ve had my small collection of them.

As Prajwal(my school buddy) says…Welcome to Keedagiri

Knight of Darkness

Am really not a Peeping Tom, but couldn’t stop myself from intruding their private moment ……sorry guys  :-P

Love is in the air

Perched on my arm and thriving on my blood, this is one species I detest the most….yeeewwww. Don’t blame me, he had the newspaper coming right at him…phataaakkk

Blood-y-sucker

Nothing much to write about except that this gentleman kept me company all through the evening and even posed nicely for the shots ;-)

Gentleman Moth

And you thought, am done already….well…watch this space more for the second post in the series :-)

Weekly Photo Challenge: Self Portrait

Posted on

Since I’ve started participating in the weekly photo challenges, Fridays have become much more interesting. Really. This week’s topic is actually Quite an interesting one especially for a camera enthusiast.

I always knew I was bad at choosing between this and that, but things got clearer this time when I had to choose between two of my self portraits. Talk of indecisiveness!!

Latest Me

No co-incidence meant here, but this picture was taken exactly a week back from today and much before this topic was announced. Am I happy or surprised or plain intuitive? All :-)

Not completely satisfied with the above shot and about to finish this post somewhat, I decided to go back to my photo collection and fish around for “the self-portrait” I must have taken sometime and Voila!!

At peace with self

Taken over 3 years back (much before I could afford a SLR) with my good old Sony Cybershot DSC-S700, I can still remember the rainy evening when I had taken this shot. Being the kind of hyper-active person that I am, sitting still at one place and that too peacefully alone is a miraculous feat by itself. However, ever since that particular evening, this place at the gallery overlooking the city has been my “corner-of-the-house” spot.

“You know you’re a photographer when you have thousands of pictures and you’re not in any of them”

Day at Dance….. Wow!!

Posted on

Ask any IT engineer and he/she will tell you the luxury of a idle sleepy weekend after chasing endless deadlines and mails over innumerable cups of tea/coffee from Monday dawn to Friday night.

But ask me and I will say, weekend is better spent when am attending a dance show or best when am myself dancing :-) Had a day-long dance workshop this weekend (10th Dec 2011) held at Smitalay by Aloka Kanungo. After much contemplation, I went for the workshop for the sheer experience of learning it from a dancer of such a great repute. I think I will let my pictures do the talking!!

It was an amazing experience to share space with such talented dancers around me and more because I learnt a completely new item esp an abhinaya item. Well, the experience is just too refreshing for me to finish off in this single bunch of pictures. Will soon post a well-detailed post about the entire experience

P.S: It was that evening when I noticed the Lunar eclipse (last for this year) on my way back home. Pics of that will be up in the next post :-P

Challenge – Spot the Sparrow!!

Posted on

Clicked this pic a few months back when I was waiting for a rickshaw outside my house.Today when I sat to edit the picture…Voila!! where did the sparrow disappear?

Spot it

Can you spot the sparrow in the picture?

Early bird winners get a surprise gift….ready for the challenge??

Weekly Photo Challenge: Waiting

Posted on

Frankly speaking, when I read the topic, I was a bit confused(not about the meaning) but as to which of my pics would render the emotion to the hilt. Turned out, I had a tie between two of my very favourite pics and hence I decided to publish both :-P

Waiting....

Clicked this picture when strolling besides the famous Talaopali lake situated right in the heart of the city. This is supposedly the busiest road on weekends with innumerous vehicles zapping up and down and all the crowd jostling in between. Amidst all the hustle bustle, you can see this row of horsecarts or tangas(hindi) waiting patiently for some young enthusiastic customer who fancies an antique horse ride…. :-)

Am waiting Boss...

:-) :-D :-)

LOL…just cannot stop laughing each time I come across this pic. This shot taken during my ex-colleague Vishal Shanbhag’s  (wide-eyed one) farewell party at Pizza hut around 9 months back. No matter how poised and smiling Deb(our manager) is for the camera shot, Shanbhag was shamelessly waiting to pounce on the tempting chocolate brownie in front of him. I definitely count this one as “hungrily” waiting….hehehehe ;-)

Random spree….

Posted on

Although this was a pretty dormant week in comparison to the past ones that I had, I still managed to click a few random stuff around the house :-P

Difficult to stay idle, eh??

Timely capture

Wanted to give the wall clock an old ancient look…something like those old grandpa styled clocks we see in the movies ….

Profile shot

Well, my friendly pigeon couple are almost always there to oblige me with a shot or two when I have just nothing else to shoot…..thank you dear!!

Do you see a face??

Well……..do you??

It is really that tinnnnnyyyy

The most interesting part was to shoot this sweet little spider when it was wandering on the book I was reading. I could only make it out from a speck of dust coz it was moving else it was about to be squashed badly…

Little Miss Muffet's fright

Btw….even after I was lying flat on the floor and trying to get a clear shot of the spider for approx 30 min, my Mom still couldn’t differentiate between the spider and the dust particle besides it :-P
